Why Beautiful Chaos?

... because I have nine children, that's why!

Awhile back on Facebook I came across the phrase beautiful chaos describing someone's day and it resonated with me.  So many days I feel like I'm I chasing my tail, running around like a decapitated chicken, and just plain swimming upstream.  Norman Rockwell  lives in my head and I wonder why his cute and tranquil scenes can't be lived out at my house, alas, we usually operate more like Family Circus or Cheaper by the Dozen.

Finding the beauty in the midst of the chaos is my key.  If I wait for the moment to be perfect, with every one coordinating and smiling (don't let that family photo deceive you!) I will not find the beauty in the moments as they come.  My plans for my day almost never work out entirely, but living joyfully and beautifully in the midst of the "messed up" plans is a daily surrender, a constant re-focusing, and a character building treasure.

My life without Christ would just be chaos, but He puts his Spirit within me and beauty flows.

Proverbs 16:9
In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.

Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

If you would like to follow my blog I will have some big news coming this week.  No, I'm not pregnant :)   I am getting used to sharing in this format and would love your feedback on readability, design, and any tips or pointers from veteran bloggers.

  1. Welcome to Blogspot, Stacy. Love the name. It describes my life perfectly with six children. I like the color and design in your background, very pretty. I would suggest putting a place for followers to follow you in your sidebar near the top just under your about you. Then also place a labels and search bar to make your blog easily searchable as you add posts. Be sure to label each post by the category you want it to appear under. I would move the archives below your about me and followers box. It's also nice to add your most popular posts box on the sidebar, and below each post it's nice to have a linkwithin box of pictures showing up that people can use to click around on your blog to other posts of yours. You can see one on my blog. All you have to do is click on the words Linkwithin next those pics and it will walk you through how to do it. Very easy and only takes a few seconds. It's a very nice feature. They are just tools to make it easier for the reader to get around your blog.

  8. Hi Stacy! I just found your blog this morning via your post on FB. It's wonderful and I'm going to enjoy a cuppa while I browse and catch up ;)
I've heard Norman Rockwell's life was really nothing like what his paintings portray. Don't quote me, I can't back that up at the moment, but I do find it therapeutic sometimes to dream of what things could be, and then take bits and pieces of that and weave it into the tapestry of our days.
You have been a great encourager to me over the years, and I know you will be to many here.
    Happy Blogging!
